Socioeconomic stakeholders of Biosphere reserves can ask permission from MAB France to stamp their products “Biosphere reserve”, which reinforces their commitment to the environment while helping to market their products.
Rather than developing a brand, MAB France, as in other countries in the world (e.g. Canada), chose to put forward a charter of commitment for them to sign in support of their Biosphere reserve. Companies thus make commitments to the environment and sustainable development in the course of their activities.
The Biosphere Reserve Charter of Commitment endeavours to establish sustainable partnerships between the Reserve and the socioeconomic sector – a process of continuous improvement towards sustainability, through a commitment to the values of the Seville Strategy. By becoming partners committed to the Biosphere reserve, these companies and organizations also act as ambassadors.
