Structure of MAB France
The French National Committee for MAB is organized following the internal structure of all Member States. It thus comprises scientists, representatives from relevant government departments (ministries of foreign affairs, environment, education and research), scientific and technical organizations (CNRS, INRA, CIRAD, Muséum national d’Histoire naturelle, universities, IRD), protected area management networks, and Biosphere reserves representatives.
The MAB France Committee is chaired by Robert Barbault, Professor of Ecology. Catherine Cibien, Coordinator, and Martine Atramentowicz are in charge of scientific activities.
The Committee operates through the board, the network of biosphere reserves and the thematic groups.
Its finances are managed by ANESC (Association Nationale pour l'Education, la Science et la Culture – French national association for education, science and culture), legal adviser of the French National Commission for UNESCO.
